Hello from Heather

Hello all. My name is Heather. I am living in Bucks County, PA and am proud to be a penguin! I love penguins, which is why I joined this team (even though they are from Jersey and not exactly around the corner).

This is my first year doing the walk and I am a bundle of emotions. Nervousness that I have bitten off more than I can chew. Excitement about being part of such an amazing thing. Fear (at least initially) about approaching people to ask for money.

I registered in mid-march and have already raised $1500. Not all of it is reflected on my donation page. Some of it is in the form of loose change (from collection jars I have scattered about), which I plan on depositing into my savings account as soon as I fill my BIG jar up. Some of it is in the form of checks from businesses, which I have to mail in (or have already mailed in and am just waiting for the donation to be posted). I still have several fundraisers planned over the next few months, so I am really confident that I will be able to hit my $2200 mark and then some.

OK, enuff 3 Day stuff. Now a little about me. I am 35, live outside Philly, was raised in the Poconos. I am a hybrid of country girl and city girl. I LOVE animals. I LOVE Harry Potter (7-21-07 can't come soon enough! But JK better NOT kill off Ron!!!). I am a complete slob. I have recently gotten into a Broadway Musical kick thanks to my younger sister, Erin. She begged me to take her and her friends to see Rent last summer and I was hooked. This year we've seen Grease as well as Joseph and the Technicolor Dreamcoat at local dinner theaters. This summer we are going to see Beauty and the Beast before it leaves Broadway.
