Well, I did it. I became and Official Training Walk Leader and held my first walk this weekend!
Met up with three ladies, all 3 Day "virgins". I bonded with them instantly (it's true....you never meet a stranger on path to the 3 Day). They peppered me with questions and I feel great that I was able to pass along the knowledge that I gained in doing the event last year.
2 of the ladies were sisters...Sam and Pam. I am exceedingly bad at putting names to faces, so I automatically labeled them The SPAM Sisters. They loved it so much that they are thinking of making it their team name!
We logged 3.2 miles on Sunday. On Saturday I spent the day in NYC and logged another 3.3 miles. My legs love it! I remember last year, that first 3-4 mile walk was killer. Now I hardly even notice it.
Unfortunately I picked up an upper respiratory infection somewhere along the way, which has sidelined my plans to hit the gym for CrossTraining. It's oj, green tea, echinacea, and lots of rest for me this week,

Was interested in joining your team. I'm a 3rd time walker (1st time in Philly) Met Chris on a training walk several weeks ago and she said it was a great team. Are you interested in another member?

If you are still interested (and I hope you are!), we would certainly LOVE, LOVE, LOVE to have you as a member of the Pink Penguins! By all means please join us. We are very friendly, and come from many different places, in life and location ;-)!
We are not a pushy group and you can get involved as much or as little as you like. As we each do things we let the group know, and if anyone would like to join in they can. We decide together how funds will be split amongst us when we do group fundraising.
We help each other out as much as we can when it comes to motivation for training and fundraising. And fundraising in general.
